Iran hesitates over nuclear fuel deal

With the meter running on Iran’s acceptance of the UN’s take-it-or-leave-it nuclear fuel offer, Tehran is now saying it wants more talks on the package. The US, France and Russia have all approved the plan, which involves Iran handing over its weakly enriched nuclear material to Russia and France for transformation into nuclear fuel rods. “This is a pivotal moment for Iran. Acceptance fully of this proposal we have put forward , and that we are united behind, would be a good indication that Iran does not wish to be isolated,” says US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The UN’s nuclear watchdog has done its work; now it is up to the involved nations to get its recommendations implemented.
